Knowing your numbers

Many farmers are great at knowing the numbers around their pasture, machinery and stock, but not so good at knowing their own vital statistics. In this clip, Dr Tom Mulholland encourages farmers to take better care of themselves, by keeping track of their blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes risk. He recommends farmers book in for an annual ‘Warrant of Fitness’ health check with their doctor. “We want to be the ambulance at the top of the cliff,” says Dr Tom. “If we get more farmers to know their numbers, it will help prevent things like heart attacks and strokes.”
